Good man laid to rest. Funeral Services over remains of Charles Livingston held yesterday.
Yesterday at 2: 30 o'clock in the Eleventh Ward Assembly Hall, impressive services were held over the remains of the late Charles Livingston. The spacious building was crowded to capacity with relatives and sympathizing friends of the deceased, among those present being many Indian war veterans and old-time comrades of the departed. The imposing white casket reposed in a veritable bower of beautiful flowers, many of them being magnificent set pieces, mute tributes of love and esteem. Bishop Robert Morris presided, and in the order named the speakers were: President John M. Knight, Joseph E. Taylor, Elders Alexander McMaster, David Cameron, Bishop Morris, President Richard W. Young, Elder Rudger Clawson, and President John R. Winder, all of whom dwelt upon the courage, loyalty and many other sterling qualities of heart and mind of the departed, and spoke words of counsel and encouragement to the living.
Sweet and appropriate music was furnished by the ward choir, and Miss Winifred Smith sang with tender feeling, "Come unto Me".
The invocation was offered by Elder Arthur W. Brown, and the benediction by Elder Isaac Sears.
A long cortege followed the remains to the city cemetery, where they were laid to rest In the family plot, the dedicatory prayer being offered by President John M. Knight.
