Security Notice
The Livingston Family Association (also LFA) is pleased make the contents of this website, including but not limited to association newsletters, genealogical research and databases, photos, histories, etc., available for the benefit of members of the Livingston Family Association and other interested parties. The information on the Livingston Family Association website has been documented, collected, researched and constructed by many individuals for over a hundred years.
Site Access Policy
While access to the Livingston Family Association website (this site) is generally open to the public, access to some data is limited and password protected for privacy reasons. Access to restricted content may be granted to individuals who are known members of the extended Livingston family, or to certain researchers who are engaged in research on Livingston lines, however access may be revoked at any time for noncompliance with the access, security, privacy, and copyright policies.
Privacy Policy
The Livingston Family Association recognizes the importance of protecting the privacy of personal information about our members and others who visit the Livingston Family Association site. The LFA believes that all genealogical information specific to you and provided to the LFA through any channel constitutes personal information. For this reason no personal information of any living individual other than the individual's name and genealogy (names of forebears/descendants) is displayed.
- The LFA website displays no genealogical information for living individuals other than name and genealogy on our web server which is accessed by the public. All other living individual information (such as DOB) is not displayed to non-registered and authenticated members.
- Photos of living individuals may, from time to time, be added to the Livingston Family Association website. For example, we typically publish photos of our annual family reunions. If you would like any photo that includes yourself or one of your children removed from the website, please contact the Livingston Family Association (board@livingstonfamily.org).
- You may have access to your information. As an LFA member you may review your information and make changes to ensure that the LFA genealogical records are complete and accurate. Your information is available by writing or emailing the LFA. After verification of your identity the information will be sent to you by U.S. Mail or email.
You may give the LFA personal information when you apply for membership, request a product or service, when you use on line shopping or payment, when you send genealogical information, or when you send email to the LFA. This policy describes our information gathering practices for the LFA website and email.
- The LFA website utilizes online applications for access to some areas of the site. The information you supply to the LFA is used only to process the application and provide you with access. Biographical information you provide will be publicly viewable to let other interested parties know your research interests and lineage. You can edit this information at any time by logging into the site.
- The LFA website may restrict the direct upload or insertion of genealogical information to protect the integrity of our genealogical database. You may submit information for review and inclusion on the website by contacting us (board@livingstonfamily.org).
- If you send the LFA information by post or email, the LFA will retain the information relevant to the transaction, service or product that is the subject of your email. This information is only used by the LFA board to handle your request, to assure that the LFA has adequately addressed your inquiry, and to handle any follow up questions you may have.
By using this website, you signify your acceptance of the LFA website Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use this site. The LFA reserves the right, at it's discretion, to change, modify, add or remove portions of this policy at any time. If you have any questions that are not answered in this policy or if you require additional explanation, please contact the Board at board@livingstonfamily.org.
