Livingston Family Association Board Meeting
October 21, 2007 at 7:00 pm

Present: Ross Livingston, Stott Cook, Charlene Clark, Enid Cox, Dana Rogers, Ann Macdonald, Ted Livingston, Blaine Livingston
Note: The board seat vacated by Lynne Herring will remain vacant until the next family business meeting

Review Minutes - Enid Cox
Minutes from the meeting held August 12, 2007, were read and approved
Treasurers Report - Enid Cox
As of September 28, 2007:
- Checking account balance - $575.71
- Savings account balance - $3833.28
- Total Funds - $4408.99
Enid also reported that our application for federal tax-exempt status has been approved. Dwight Epperson, who graciously helped the association with our application, explains our status as follows:
- "According to the letter dated September 7, 2007, the Internal Revenue Service says that they have determined that you [the Livingston Family Association] are exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions to you are deductible under section 170 of the Code. You are also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under section 2055, 2106 or 2522 of the Code.
- "In other words, contributions of all types to the Livingston Family Organization are officially tax deductible."
Descendancy Report - Blaine Livingston
About 7,000 names are now recorded. Blaine is still working on inputing from the green book and will then begin to reach out to their descendants.
Ancestor Research Report - Ted Livingston & Dana Rogers
An appointment has been set up for Tuesday, October 23, 2007, with a Scottish Researcher at the Family History Center in Salt Lake City to see what has changed in the last 20 years, and what can we do now regarding new research. Dana and Ted were going to be there.
Newsletter and Mailing List Report - Charlene Clark
Charlene reported that the calling campaign was very successful. We have:
- 571 names on our mailing list
- 302 email addresses
- 82 with unknown phone number
- 132 not contacted yet
- 55 without email access
The next newsletter will be sent in early November. Contents and assignments are as follows:
- Recap of the Birch Creek Reunion - Stott & Ann
- Ancestor Research Project - Ted & Dana
- A train history - Charlene
- Article about the next reunion - Stott & Ann
- Note about 501(c)(3) status - Enid
Articles are due to Charlene by October 28th!
2008 Reunion - Stott Cook and Ann Macdonald
- Reunion will be held June 13 – 14, 2008
- Pineview Reservoir – Anderson Cove – has been reserved for camping
- Need a speaker for Friday night about “train history”
- The suggestion was made to show video “Mountain of the Lord”.
- Stott has given newsletter article to Charlene.

The next scheduled board meeting will be on January 13, 2007, 7:00 PM, at the home of Ross Livingston.
